Free tool

Write your author bio once, in every length.

Fill in the facts. The builder writes a short, medium and long bio in third person, a first-person version for your own site, and an introduction a host can read aloud. Every word comes from what you enter.

You
Start with "a" or "the".
Who you help
Start with a verb.
The book
Start with "to".
Proof

Two or three things a reader could check. Start each with a past-tense verb.

The human part (optional)
Start with a present-tense verb, as you would say it about yourself in third person.

Your bios

Start typing on the left. Name, pronouns, role, who you help and the book title are enough for a first draft.

The builder fills sentence patterns with your words. It does not write claims for you, so check every fact before you publish. For how to choose the proof points, read how to write an author bio.

Where each one goes

Five versions, one set of facts

Bios drift. The back cover says one thing, LinkedIn another, the conference program a third. Writing every version from the same facts keeps your brand saying one thing.

Short

Back cover, social profiles, podcast show notes, guest post bylines. One sentence on who you help, one on the book.

Medium

The About the Author page in the book, event programs, press releases. Adds your proof.

Long

Your website, media kit and speaker one-sheet. Adds why you wrote the book, your named idea and a human detail.

First person

Your own About page and LinkedIn summary, where readers expect you to speak for yourself.

Read-aloud introduction

Send it to every host and organizer. Written to be spoken: short sentences, the name at the end. More in speaking topics from your book.

Then keep them in step

When something changes, rebuild all five. The brand consistency checklist lists every place a bio lives.

Questions

Common questions

How long should an author bio be?

Keep three. About 50 words for the back cover, social profiles and podcast listings, about 100 for the book's About the Author page and event programs, and about 200 for your website and media kits. The builder writes a short, medium and long version from one set of facts, so they never contradict each other. How long each comes out depends on how much you give it; add proof points and a personal detail to lengthen the long one, and trim to fit.

Should an author bio be in first or third person?

Third person for anything someone else publishes or reads: the book, event programs, press. First person for places where you speak for yourself, such as your own website's About page or a LinkedIn summary. The builder gives you both.

What should an author bio include?

Who you help and what you help them do, the book's title, two or three proof points a reader can check, and, if you like, one human detail. Leave out a full résumé, vague praise of yourself and anything the reader cannot connect to the book.

Is this an AI bio generator?

No. It is a set of sentence patterns filled with your own facts, in your browser. Nothing is invented for you, which is why the result is only as strong as the proof points you give it. Edit the output freely; it is a draft.

Is what I type saved anywhere?

No. The builder runs on your device. Your text stays in this tab unless you choose to send the optional form below.
